My Language

MY LANGUAGE LEARNING HISTORY

When, where and why did you started learning english?
I have always found very chic speak English and wanted to learn to speak at all costs.
My first contact with the tongue was pretty young, but don't remember exactly my age. The last memory I have is of the 6th grade of elementary school, which is where I understood better than it was. Know the colors, the numbers (up to 10), some names of animals (cow, dog, cat, fish), and learned the famous: "what's your name? My name is Yasmin. "
Then I was learning the verb to be for a good few years and that almost made me give up learning. I've never done English cram schools, all I know is because I ran alone.

What was easy/difficult when you were learning english?
Easy is you learn the meaning of each word in English, difficult is you put it all together and assemble a sentence. The pronunciation is also something that I have a certain difficulty because of my accent. I believe that the palistas used with the R, has greater ease of pronunciation. Also I'm very ashamed to say something wrong, then I specialized in reading. When the teacher tells the whole class in English, I understand everything he says, but if he asks me something, I'm afraid to answer wrong. When I read a text or an article in English understand practically everything.
To be honest, there is no easy or difficult, there is willpower to evolve. If we let the shyness and laziness take care of ourselves, we will never not a new language.

How you felt about your classes, classmates and teacher?
Unfortunately I am part of the students who learned the verb to be my whole life, I don't have much to say about my teachers. What I can say is that I ran far behind to learn what I know today. My first contact with the closest English happened at the University. I had a teacher, Ádini, who assisted me a lot, because she knew my difficulties and help me, besides having patience with me and all my friends in class. And talking about them, I have to say that I enjoyed the most of my friends who already speak English. I asked for help and took questions as much as I could. I have a friend who did a few years of cram schools and know practically the same things. We studied together and we help each other a lot.

What helped you learn English?
Start watching movies subtitled instead of dubbed was what else helped. But I can also quote my curiosity to learn to sing the songs in English, which helped in the pronunciation. I lived with many people fluent in the language they taught me new things and helped me a lot.

How you think people should learn english?
First, they must enter an English course. And then look for other means to learn the language, such as: in songs, articles, movies, series, conversation groups, etc.

What the role of the teacher and of the learning is?
The role of the teacher is to pass as much knowledge as possible, respecting the student's difficulties and recognizing his evolution.
Use innovative methods to teach a new language that facilitates student learning. Speak English helps, but when pronouncing any word you consider hard, thinking that maybe the student does not know. In this case, I would write on the Board and would translate, so the person would not have more questions when I speak that Word again.

How you see yourself as an english teacher?
Still not taught in any classroom, but I intend to get close to what I said in the previous question, always seeking the best for my student.
